In French, brèche means a breach, a passage forced open towards an elsewhere. Brèche is a performance where object theatre meets multimedia art and moving image, exploring the powerful experience of imagination. It is a sensory journey from the tangible to the intangible, where objects, bodies, images and sounds become portals to other realities.

Susan Sontag writes in On Photography (1977) that the camera places us at a distance from its subject. Through the photographic image, another person can be observed without reciprocity. Looking becomes safe, and at times detached. Cinema often reproduces a similar distance: on screen, a person appears as an image rather than as an encounter.
In this exhibition, the encounter emerges in the space between two images and separate timelines. Two performers appear on overlapping screens, and a relationship unfolds between them, shaped by camera movement, choreography, and spatial composition. The roles of performer and camera operator continuously alternate, forming a feedback loop in which each choreography shapes the next. In this process, the boundaries between performance and creation, as well as distance and reciprocity, begin to blur.
The exhibition operates along the threshold between the documentary and the constructed, between presence and representation. It lingers on questions of what an encounter can mean within an image, and how an image might produce an experience of relation.
This exploration draws on the portrait and its traditional promise of a particular kind of connection. Roland Barthes writes in Camera Lucida (1980) that a photograph is always a sign of someone’s presence, a trace of a situation in which someone once stood in front of the camera. In this work, presence is distributed across multiple levels and temporalities, and the relationship takes shape in the space between images.
Perhaps the encounter does not occur between the people depicted, but between the viewer and the image, at the moment when the illusion of closeness begins to feel real.

In darkness or low-lit environments, the eye must adjust and learn to see differently. The same applies to listening rooms: removed from visual stimuli, the listener is invited into a heightened state of presence, developing a more acute and sensitive quality of listening. Drawing inspiration from Courbet’s L’Origine du Monde, listening rooms, and low-lit museum spaces that preserve fragile objects, this installation is conceived as a breathing sculpture that places intimacy as a state of observation, vibrating between closeness and distance, connection and disconnection. Using subwoofers as instruments and the body as transducers, 0111000_ creates a sonic and visual experience in which digital, synthetic, and organic forms converge.

Inside the box, two women are trapped in a repetitive, absurd domestic loop, stripped of meaning and tightly regulated by an invisible system that punishes any act of agency or connection.
CELL#42 is an interactive performance installation conceptualised in collaboration with Hangar People & Folding House Productions exploring domestic violences and coercive behaviour. Using light sensors, the audience can control the two performers as if they were game characters.

An absurdist critique of political power, greed and the concentration of wealth, the play imagines a ruling elite continuing to indulge in excess while the world outside collapses. Protected from the consequences of their own actions, they turn the end of the world into one final spectacle of power, privilege and violence.
Drawing inspiration from Marco Ferreri’s La Grande Bouffe and Denis Villeneuve’s Next Floor, the piece explores carnage in both a literal and metaphorical sense: a grotesque descent into excess, destruction and violence, where the absurdity of power is pushed to its limits.
2018 - Le Salon (London, UK)
Duration - 30 minutes
Concept, text, performance - Emilie Largier-Audo
Video installation - Emilie Largier-Audo
Tattoo artist - Alexandro
The work took the form of a 30-minute reading performance. While the poem unfolded, Emilie’s head was progressively shaved and tattooed, turning the body itself into a site of transformation.
Drawing from performance art and ritual practices, the work explored the audience experience as an intimate and collective encounter with transformation. The physical act was not an illustration of the text, but a live process through which performer and audience shared a moment of vulnerability, endurance, and change.

Emilie Largier is a multidisciplinary artist, performer, and director working across stage performance, multimedia installation, and visual arts.
Born in France in 1988, she currently lives and works between London (UK) and Vordingborg (DK).
She holds a BA in Fine Arts from the University of Toulouse and a DMA (Diplôme des Métiers d’Arts) in Costume Making & Design from Paul Poiret (Paris, FR). From 2009 to 2018, she worked across a range of productions in opera, theatre, film, and dance to then train in performance and physical theatre. These experiences shaped her detailed approach to spatial composition, rhythm, and dramaturgy.
Her practice explores intimacy, memory, and identity, with a particular interest in how violence can reshape those and alter our perception of reality and the self.
Drawing on cinema and chiaroscuro techniques, she treats darkness as a site of emergence and the “hors-champ” (off-screen) as a structural principle. Her works often present bodies and spaces in fragmented, incomplete, or mediated forms, creating zones of indeterminacy in which spectators reconstruct connections, narratives, and relationships. She develops perceptual environments in which spectators are engaged through listening, duration, and attention.
She is the founder of Hors-Champ and has developed work across Europe through collaborations and co-creations in the United Kingdom, France, Belgium, Denmark, and Finland. Recent presentations include CPH Stage 2025 (DK), Feral Festival 2026 (DK), and Hippolyte Photography Gallery (FI).
Emilie is an alumni of the Forecast Program 2026, during which she received mentorship from performer and artist Tom Cassani and presented initial research for BRÈCHE at Radialsystem Berlin in July 2026.
